God sent me a message a few days ago (early November 2009) saying I should register the website Kingdom4Africa.com. I am not yet sure what God intends doing with this website, but it is dedicated to the glory of God and to spreading His Kingdom and His Word across the beautiful continent of Africa.

Because God wants us to have a relationship with Him, this is a biblically based blogsite and I will do my best, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to avoid religion or religious debates between Christian groups because there simply is no point. Christian religion has caused too much hurt in this world and the Holy Spirit is leading me to help unite all the Christian churches to follow what is written in the Bible and nothing else. Therefore, there is no bias to Roman Catholicism, Anglicanism, Baptist, etc. If the Bible says so, then that is that. It is a book inspired by God and it is either right or wrong. If one believes in God, then one should surely accept that EVERY word in the Bible is exactly how God meant it to be portrayed. There are no grey areas.

There are two things I feel I really need to point out. The first is that this website is a HUGE responsibility on me. James wrote in Jas 3:1Not many should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive a stricter judgment.” Therefore, should you see any errors in my theology, please let me know by Commenting on the Blog or Article advising me of the error.

The second thing is that one of my favourite verses in the Bible is 1Cor 13:13Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Having only been saved for a little over a year, this is one of the verses I always use to judge whether something is of God or not. God is love and if we all loved each other as we should, we would not argue and fight over religious things that are not even scriptural. We would not judge each other and we would accept each other for who we are, whether we are saved or not. Yes, we have a duty to judge the sin but not each other. That is for God to do only.

A little about me: my name is Murray and I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, being South Africa. I am married and have two wonderful children. I was saved in August 2008 and have been extremely grateful for this act of grace by my Lord God, not just for the blessings I have already been privileged to have on this earth, but most importantly, the gift of eternal life in the presence of the Almighty. I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and the indescribable sense of peace that He brings and I give thanks for that incredible experience.

In South Africa, we have a small first world community and a large third world community. We also have quite a large percentage of our population being Christian, however, there is lots and lots of work still to be done to reach all those, not just in South Africa, but across all of Africa who are not yet saved. As I said above, I am not sure what God has in store for this website. Currently I feel He just wants me to fill it with my experiences as a new Christian (and eventually a mature one!), teachings that have had an impact on my life and eventually contributions from those like you who are reading this. It took Moses 80 years before he started to really fulfill his purpose on earth. Hopefully God will use this website to do His wonderful works quicker than that!!

I would like to finish off the “About us” page with a recent experience. As mentioned above, God told me recently to register this website. He has also made it abundantly clear that it is not about me but about Him through numerous readings in Oswald Chambers book “The Utmost for His Highest” and, more recently, in our church’s sermon last Sunday. The sermon was about doing the things that God blesses and not about doing our things and asking God to bless them. Our pastor used the story of Elijah to illustrate this. If we look at the following scripture from 1 Kings:

1Ki 18:36 At the time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet approached the altar and said, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that at Your word I have done all these things.

1Ki 18:37 Answer me, LORD! Answer me so that this people will know that You, Yahweh, are God and that You have turned their hearts back.”

1Ki 18:38 Then Yahweh’s fire fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

1Ki 18:39 When all the people saw it, they fell facedown and said, “Yahweh, He is God! Yahweh, He is God!”

In verse 36 Elijah tried to get in on the act by linking himself to God’s power and that he did or will do these things himself with God’s help. God did nothing, so in verse 37 Elijah changes his approach and leaves himself out. Only then did God perform the miracle that Elijah asked for.

This website therefore belongs to God (like everything else on this earth). I, and you, are merely the tools He will use to spread His Kingdom and Word across this beautiful continent of Africa.

Statement of Faith
I believe in one God, the Creator of all things. I believe He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die on the cross for our sins. I believe Jesus was buried and on the third day, He rose from the dead to be seated at the right hand of the Father. I believe the only way to eternal life is through Jesus Christ and I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

Lord, bless Africa;
May her horn rise high up;
Hear Thou our prayers And bless us.

Chorus
Descend, O Spirit,
Descend, O Holy Spirit.

Bless our chiefs
May they remember their Creator.
Fear Him and revere Him,
That He may bless them.

Bless the public men,
Bless also the youth
That they may carry the land with patience
and that Thou mayst bless them.

Bless the wives
And also all young women;
Lift up all the young girls
And bless them.

Bless the ministers
of all the churches of this land;
Endue them with Thy Spirit
And bless them.

Bless agriculture and stock raising
Banish all famine and diseases;
Fill the land with good health
And bless it.

Bless our efforts
of union and self-uplift,
Of education and mutual understanding
And bless them.

Lord, bless Africa
Blot out all its wickedness
And its transgressions and sins,
And bless it.

By Enoch Sontonga (AD 1897), a Methodist mission school teacher in Johannesburg. Part of this prayer is used in the South African National Anthem.
